The road bed is finally being put down on the bridge itself!

Snow Going

While there were no workers present for this shot, they were out earlier in the day. 

At the time the temps were in the low 20's with snow flurries.

 

It seems they are currently working on the road bed.

Slow going

I actually saw work yesterday (during the MLK Holiday) and thought I saw work there today but by 11am the site was deserted.

Not being a bridge engineer I can't be sure of what we are looking at here but I hope the road surface will be wider than the two inner most block walls. Part of this new bridge's function is to help with the after work congestion here and the easiest thing they could do for that is to add a really long, "turn lane" in the westbound side. Those inner most walls don't appear to provide enough room for more than two lanes.

Working again today. They appear to be disassembling the crane.

 

New year, new work.

Crews have been back at work since the end of last week.
For the most part they seem to be building forms and pouring concrete.
